Earlier this year, we partnered with our friend Michael over in Austria. His enthusiasm for biking and Litespeed caught our attention, along with his beautiful photos. Be on the lookout for more great content from him throughout 2020.
In the meantime, we wanted to hear how he ended up building out his new Ultimate Road - long story short, his bike is a machine.

The Build Process
Michael had one goal when building up his Ultimate: combine the cutting edge technology and aerodynamic characteristics of titanium with the lightest weight components. Check out the step-by-step process of his build and what went into the creation of his dream road bike.
- Cut the fork and install the stem.
- Install the Di2 cables and the front + rear derailleurs.
- Mount the handlebar, shifters and flat mount caliper.
- Bleed the Shimano disc brakes.
- Install the T47 bottom bracket from Wheels Manufacturing.
- Install the Easton EC90SL crank with 52/36 chainrings and a Cinch Powermeter Spindal.
- Assemble and install the wheels, tubes and tires.
- Install the chain and adjust the front and rear derailleurs.
- Install the seatpost, saddle, seatpost clamp - weighing 167 grams altogether. The Darimo seatpost clamps to the saddle with a loop with ultralight Dyneema material.
- Install the stemcap from Absolut Black with Tune GumGum Ahead Expander -weighing 14 grams altogether. The handlebar tape is from Supacaz and the ultralight Speedplay X Titanium pedals.
- Finally, install the 2 bottle cages from Tune bolted with carbon screws.
