Litespeed has constantly pushed the envelope of titanium frame design. In the early 1990s, top Grand Tour racers asked us to build custom ‘climbing day’ frames to help them compete on the hardest mountain stages. These ultralight frames were often rebadged as team bikes, and they evolved and blossomed beneath some the world’s most talented climbers, achieving multiple Tour de France KOM Jersey wins.

A RARE PIECE OF TITANIUM HISTORY

To maintain the heart and soul of the bike, the new Ghisallo uses the last of the original bespoke 3-piece welded BSA bottom bracket shells created specifically for the Ghisallo in the early 2000s. This is a bike only Litespeed can build, and the custom tooling used to craft these unique bottom brackets has been recycled, meaning this is the end of the Ghisallo line.

INSPIRED BY INNOVATION

When designing our latest climbing bike, the Coll dels Reis, we looked back at the bike that inspired it—the Ghisallo. To honor our heritage and bring a legend back to life, we used the same Litespeed Superform FW tubing and advanced titanium manufacturing techniques we developed for the Coll dels Reis.

The Ghisallo frame weighs only 871 grams (size M), while improving the stiffness and handling of the original. It’s nearly 80 grams lighter than our flagship Coll dels Reis! We achieved this by staying true to the original with classic rim brakes and quick-release axles.

The Ghisallo is designed around 700c x 25mm-28mm tires. It has clearance to fit road tires up to 28mm wide.

Every Litespeed titanium frame is hand-built in the USA, in our factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, by master framebuilders using premium, globally sourced materials.

The average lead time is 3-4 weeks. This is because every Litespeed titanium frame and complete bike is built to order. You will receive email updates informing you when we begin building and assembling your bike, and when it is shipped from our factory.

The Ghisallo is built with Litespeed's Superform FW tubeset. Superform FW is a premier featherweight titanium tubeset used exclusively on the world’s lightest titanium bikes: the Coll dels Reis and the Ghisallo. Superform FW is an aerospace-grade 3AL/2.5V titanium tubeset featuring extreme multi-dimensional shaping and wall-thickness reduction to maximize both ride quality and weight reduction.

The Ghisallo features extensive titanium tube manipulation to achieve its incredibly low weight. The titanium wall thicknesses are precisely controlled along the full length of each tube to bring down weight. For optimal performance and handling, these tubes must be designed around riders of a certain weight.

Riders heavier than the 85kg/187lb weight limit may experience excessive frame flex, which will lead to a suboptimal riding experience. If you're over the Ghisallo's weight limit, we suggest trying our Spezia, which is nearly as light, significantly stiffer, and has no rider weight limit.
