THE LITESPEED COLL DELS REIS NOMINATED FOR VELO'S BIKE OF THE YEAR
Last month, Velo nominated seven road bikes for its 2025 Road Bike of the Year award. They test A LOT of road bikes, so we were stoked to hear that the Coll dels Reis got the nod from Velo editors. Unfortunately, we didn't win the top spot, but it's worth noting that of the seven bikes nominated, the Coll dels Reis is the only non-carbon bike. Litespeed proudly waves the titanium flag, and if there's one bike that shows how far the material can be pushed, it's the Coll dels Reis.
Excerpt from "The 7 Best Road Bikes of 2025" by Velo:
Litespeed Coll dels Reis
If the Aethos 2 lands on this list because it’s accessible, the Coll dels Reis is essentially the opposite. It’s exceptionally expensive, the build numbers are small, there is no less expensive version, and very few people will experience it. At the same time, this is the bike that the Aethos is trying to be. I made no argument for the Coll dels Reis winning overall, but it’s so good I wanted to highlight it.
What I find particularly interesting about the Coll dels Reis is that it accomplishes everything it is with a very back-to-basics strategy. There’s no story about CFD here but rather a designer who passionately chases the very best that’s possible in titanium. The tubes look round but mostly aren’t and every crease and detail adds to what makes the bike great.
This bike is also about no compromise. Normally, choosing titanium means a heavier bike, but the Coll dels Reis is the lightest titanium disc brake bike you can get. I weighed my build, with SRAM RED and Enve 2.3 wheels, at 7.24 kg ready to ride minus pedals. Like the Aethos, though, that’s only a backdrop. The real story is how the bike balances stiffness and flex to make a comfortable bike that has that intangible snap to it. It also happens to descend beautifully.
If you are looking for something different, and you can consider something in this price range, the Litespeed Coll dels Reis is really something special.
